2,794 Students to Be Conferred Degrees; 45 Gold Medals to Be Awarded

Anand: In its continued pursuit of academic excellence, Charotar University of Science and Technology (CHARUSAT) will organise its 15th Convocation Ceremony on Tuesday, January 13, 2026, at 4:30 pm, at the university campus. The Convocation Ceremony will be graced by Amit Shah, Honourable Union Home Minister of India, who will deliver the Convocation Address as the Chief Guest. The ceremony will be presided over by Shri Surendrabhai Patel, President of CHARUSAT. The event marks a significant milestone in the academic journey of graduating students, symbolising their transition from campus life to professional pursuits.

Accredited with an ‘A+’ Grade by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), recognised as a Centre of Excellence by the Government of Gujarat, and ranked among the top private universities in Gujarat by the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF), Charotar University of Science and Technology continues to strengthen its position as a leading institution of higher education. A total of 2,794 students, including 1,076 female and 1,718 male graduates, will be conferred degrees during the convocation. Among them, 45 meritorious students securing top ranks across various disciplines will be honoured with pure gold medals in recognition of their academic excellence.

Degrees will be awarded across multiple faculties, including 173 students from the Faculty of Pharmacy, 429 from the Faculty of Management Studies, 183 from the Faculty of Medical Sciences, 197 from the Faculty of Sciences, 692 from the Faculty of Computer Science and Applications, and 1,120 students from different branches of the Faculty of Technology and Engineering. The graduating cohort comprises 2,018 undergraduate students, 713 postgraduate students, 25 postgraduate diploma holders, and 38 doctoral (Ph.D.) scholars.

Notably, since its first convocation in 2012, CHARUSAT has maintained the rare tradition of awarding pure gold medals (14 carats, 15 grams) instead of gold-plated medals. To date, the university has awarded 439 gold medals across fourteen convocation  ceremonies. Preparations for the convocation are underway under the overall supervision and guidance of Shri Surendrabhai Patel, President, along with Dr Atul Patel, Provost, and Dr Binit Patel, Registrar.

CHARUSAT has a long-standing tradition of inviting eminent national leaders, scientists, technologists, and industrialists as Chief Guests at its convocation ceremonies. The presence of Shri Amit Shah at the 15th Convocation further adds prestige to this significant academic event.
