TOTO Surpasses 70 Million WASHLET Units Worldwide; India Emerges as One of the Fastest-Growing Markets

India: TOTO Ltd. has announced that global shipments of its WASHLET range have surpassed 70 million units, marking a significant milestone in the company’s four-decade journey in bathroom hygiene innovation. The WASHLET range is now available in over 100 countries, with demand rising steadily across the Americas, Europe, and Asia. The growth reflects a global move toward better hygiene, comfort, and wellness-focused living, particularly in residential and commercial restroom spaces.

India Gains Strategic Importance

Among international markets, India has emerged as one of TOTO’s fastest-growing regions. Over the last three years, TOTO India Industries Pvt. Ltd. has doubled its WASHLET sales, driven by heightened hygiene awareness following the pandemic and a growing preference for premium home solutions. Indian consumers are increasingly investing in advanced bathroom technologies that offer both comfort and long-term health benefits, strengthening India’s position in TOTO’s global growth strategy.

Commenting on the development, Mr. Shiozawa Kazuyuki, Managing Director, TOTO India, said: “We have seen strong momentum in India over the past few years as hygiene standards have become an important priority for consumers. The growth in WASHLET sales reflects this shift, and we remain focused on expanding our reach while maintaining our emphasis on hygiene and wellness.”

Continued Focus on Innovation

In August 2025, TOTO Ltd. introduced the NEOREST LS-W and AS-W, taking its wellness-oriented approach a step further. The new models feature built-in sensors that analyse stool characteristics and connect the data to the TOTO Wellness App.

The launch builds on 45 years of WASHLET development, which has seen the product evolve from basic cleansing functions to advanced features such as EWATER+, PREMIST, warm-water cleansing, warm-air drying, deodorisation, automatic lid operation, and ergonomic design.

Expanding Global Presence

TOTO continues to strengthen its global service network through initiatives such as the World Service Masters programme and has received international recognition through awards including the Good Design Award, iF Design Award, and Red Dot Award.

The company’s products are increasingly being adopted in premium hospitality and public spaces worldwide, including properties such as Park Hyatt Chicago and Hôtel Plaza Athénée Paris. These developments align with TOTO’s WILL2030 vision, which focuses on cleanliness, wellness, sustainability, and long-term social value.
