Ahmedabad : Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India (EDII), under the aegis of the Centre for Research in Entrepreneurship Education and Development (CREED), is organising Case Competition 2026 from January 5 to 7, 2026, intending to promote high-quality, research-driven case studies in entrepreneurship and management education.

As a precursor to the competition, EDII conducted a Case Writing Workshop on November 4–5, 2025, aimed at building faculty and researcher capabilities in developing effective, classroom-ready case studies grounded in real-world business contexts.

The competition witnessed strong national participation, receiving 70 case leads, of which 49 were shortlisted. A total of 30 authors are participating in the event, presenting 23 cases across six academic sessions.

The Case Competition seeks to address the growing need for India-centric, experiential teaching resources by encouraging rigorous research and structured case development. Through this initiative, EDII plans to establish a dedicated Case Unit to curate, publish, and disseminate high-quality cases that enhance faculty pedagogy and enrich student learning outcomes in entrepreneurship and management education.

Inaugurating the event, Dr. Sunil Shukla, Director General, EDII, said, “To create successful entrepreneurs, our curriculum must reflect real-life experiences. Case Competition 2026 provides a collaborative platform where researchers and scholars transform business insights into impactful pedagogical tools.”

Echoing this sentiment, Dr. Satyajit Majumdar, Distinguished Adjunct Professor, EDII and Chair of the Competition, stated, “Our goal is to bring real-world experiences into the classroom. This competition is a meaningful step towards strengthening experiential learning in entrepreneurship education.”

The submitted cases are being evaluated by an expert jury comprising Dr. Satyajit Majumdar; Dr. Amitabh Deo Kodwani, Professor, IIM Indore; and Dr. Gordhan Kumar Saini, Professor, TISS Mumbai. In addition to case presentations, the three-day programme includes panel discussions and expert sessions, offering participants valuable insights into case writing methodologies, research design, and publication standards.
