The Department of Civil Engineering at IITRAM is organizing a 5-day Short Term Training Programme for practicing engineers from various municipal corporations throughout Gujarat. This program, titled “Training of Road and Bridge Infrastructure,” will take place from November 24 to 28, 2025. The initiative is supported by the Gujarat Urban Development Institute (GUDI) under the Government of Gujarat.
A comprehensive five-day technical training programme was recently held, gathering 37 practicing engineers for an enriching capacity-building experience. The curriculum focused on essential topics such as:
- Geotechnical and geosynthetics investigations for roads and bridges
- Pavement design
- Inspection techniques for existing bridges, including addressing construction challenges
- Techniques for prestressed bridges
Participants enjoyed hands-on training sessions and site visits, which offered practical insights into real-world applications. A dedicated knowledge-sharing session allowed engineers to exchange expertise and best practices, fostering collaborative learning. The programme concluded with enthusiastic feedback, highlighting its effectiveness in enhancing technical skills and professional competence among the engineers involved.
