Ahmedabad : The first International Conference on Advanced Materials for Sustainable Energy and Environmental Infrastructure (ICAM-SEEi 2025) was successfully hosted by the Institute of Infrastructure, Technology, Research and Management (IITRAM), Ahmedabad. The three-day global event commenced on 26 November 2025. It drew more than 120 delegates, including eminent scientists, academicians, industry experts, and research scholars from India, the United States, South Korea, Singapore, and several other countries.
The conference commenced with the esteemed presence of two notable guests: Chief Guest Prof. V. Chandrasekhar from TIFR Hyderabad and Guest of Honour Prof. V. R. Desai from IIT Dharwad. During his address, Prof. Desai emphasized the significance of ancient Indian knowledge systems in creating sustainable, net-zero infrastructure within the water, energy, and waste management sectors. He praised the incredible engineering of historic Indian temples and encouraged researchers to look to traditional wisdom for inspiration in developing future technologies.
Chief Guest Prof. V. Chandrasekhar of TIFR Hyderabad, in his inaugural address, emphasized that smart infrastructure alone is not enough for a rapidly progressing India. He stressed that a truly modern nation must also prioritize a sustainable environment, calling it a collective responsibility of every citizen. In his welcome remarks, Prof. M. K. Barua provided an overview of IITRAM and highlighted the institute’s vision, ongoing initiatives, and academic strengths. The conference was inaugurated in the presence of distinguished guests, plenary speakers, faculty members, and participants. Convener Dr. Sourav Das outlined the conference’s mission to advance research in sustainable energy technologies, environmental materials, and smart infrastructure, underscoring the importance of interdisciplinary collaboration and innovation.
As part of the inaugural ceremony, several outstanding researchers were felicitated for their notable contributions to the field of material science. The session concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Ravi Kashikar, while Ms. Gunjan efficiently conducted and coordinated the entire programme.
