Rajkot : Gopal Snacks, a prominent player in India’s organized traditional snacks industry, has officially begun commercial production of namkeen at its manufacturing facility located in Modasa, North Gujarat. This facility, which previously focused on producing potato wafers and fryums, has now been expanded to include namkeen production, enhancing the existing operations at the company’s plants in Rajkot and Nagpur.

The expansion is a key element of Gopal Snacks’ overall strategy to bolster its presence throughout India and enhance operational synergies among its manufacturing units. By increasing namkeen production at the Modasa facility, the company seeks to improve supply efficiency, address the rising demand in northern and western markets, and guarantee timely delivery to distributors.

Raj Hadvani, Whole-Time Director and CEO of Gopal Snacks, said, “The expansion of the Modasa facility with the commencement of namkeen production is an important step towards improving supply chain efficiency and meeting the increasing demand for our products across India. By producing our most of the range of namkeens at both Rajkot and Modasa, we can serve our distributors faster, strengthen our presence in new markets, and continue providing high-quality, trusted products to our consumers.”

Situated in Modasa, an area known for its agricultural abundance, the plant enjoys easy access to essential raw materials like potatoes, peanuts, and black gram, sourced directly from local farmers. Additionally, the company has set up a cold storage facility with a capacity of approximately 40,000 metric tonnes in Modasa, ensuring a steady supply of raw materials throughout the year and facilitating uninterrupted production.

Following the recent expansion, Modasa’s total production capacity is now approximately 200 metric tonnes per day. The facility features continuous infrastructure upgrades, process enhancements, and automation initiatives led by Gopal Snacks’ in-house engineering teams, all aimed at ensuring operational efficiency and product consistency.

The expansion supports Gopal Snacks’ long-term growth strategy by enabling faster market reach, consistent product availability, and quicker supply to distributors across northern and western India, particularly in Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana, and Madhya Pradesh.
