Ahmedabad: The Institute of Infrastructure, Technology, Research, and Management (IITRAM) in Ahmedabad successfully hosted InfraVision 2047, a two-day competition for students focused on innovative, smart, sustainable, and disaster-resilient infrastructure. This event was meticulously designed and executed by the Department of Civil Engineering at IITRAM.

Aligning with the Hon’ble Prime Minister’s vision for a Viksit Bharat 2047—a developed, resilient, and future-ready India—this event sought to inspire young civil engineers. The goal was to encourage innovative thinking and foster contributions to nation-building through sustainable engineering solutions.

This year’s event saw remarkable participation, featuring 30 teams from four universities in Gujarat and Maharashtra. Students showcased their talents in three key categories: Model Making, Poster Presentation, and Quiz Competition, highlighting their creativity, technical abilities, and insight into global infrastructure challenges.

The event was inaugurated by Director Prof. M. K. Barua, in front of an audience of over 100 attendees, including faculty members, participants, and students. During his opening remarks, the Director highlighted the significance of fostering young talent to expedite India’s advancement toward achieving its infrastructure objectives by 2047.

Faculty coordinators – Dr. Trudeep Dave, Dr. Ayyanna Habal, and Dr. Nishant Sharma – emphasized that InfraVision 2047 provides a critical platform for students to explore solutions addressing climate resilience, sustainable materials, urban development, and disaster preparedness. Throughout the two days, participants showcased visionary models, insightful research posters, and competitive spirit in the quiz rounds. The event encouraged interdisciplinary learning and collaboration among budding engineers.

Awards and certificates were distributed during the valedictory ceremony to recognize outstanding contributions. The organizing committee expressed gratitude to all participating universities, judges, faculty members, and student volunteers for making InfraVision 2047 a remarkable success.
