India: Sembcorp Industries, through its fully owned renewables subsidiary, Sembcorp Green Infra Private Limited (Sembcorp), has secured a 150MW Firm and Dispatchable Renewable Energy (FDRE) power project from SJVN Limited. This build-own-operate initiative is part of SJVN’s broader 6,000MWh (1,500MW x 4 hours) tender aimed at providing guaranteed peak power from renewable energy projects linked to the Inter-State Transmission System, complete with integrated energy storage systems.
Sembcorp will install approximately 750MW, comprising solar and battery energy storage systems (BESS) to meet the contracted capacity. Subject to the execution of a 25-year power purchase agreement with SJVN, the project is expected to achieve commercial operation within 24 months of signing and will be funded through a mix of internal funds and debt.

With this latest win, Sembcorp’s gross renewables capacity in India has surpassed 7.6GW. Globally, Sembcorp’s renewables portfolio stands at 20.1GW, including acquisitions pending completion.
