Ahmedabad : Vigilance Awareness Week is celebrated each year during the week that includes the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, known as India’s “Iron Man,” on October 31st. Sardar Patel’s vision of integrity, unity, and disciplined governance continues to inspire generations. His principles serve as a reminder that ethical behaviour in both public and private life is the cornerstone of a robust nation.
Each year, India commemorates Vigilance Awareness Week to strengthen its collective commitment to integrity, transparency, and accountability across all aspects of life. This nationwide initiative, launched by the Central Vigilance Commission (CVC), seeks to raise awareness among citizens and organizations regarding the significance of ethical behavior and effective governance.
In 2025, the observance gains enhanced importance as the nation moves toward a future characterized by digital transformation, innovation, and inclusive growth. This year’s theme—“Vigilance: Our Shared Responsibility”—strongly aligns with the values of Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL). HPCL remains a leader in this movement, spearheading meaningful initiatives to foster vigilance, ethical conduct, and transparency.
As part of a series of initiatives organized by HPCL across schools, colleges, and stakeholder forums, HPCL today conducted an Expert Talk followed by a Vigilance Walkathon at Ahmedabad. The event witnessed active participation from HPCL officers, as well as key stakeholders from the LPG and Retail segments.
The Vigilance Walkathon aimed to mobilize employees, students, and citizens to collectively promote awareness about the importance of integrity and the need to eradicate corruption. Through such initiatives, HPCL seeks to foster a transparent and ethical culture within the organization and the larger community.
