The Institute of Infrastructure, Technology, Research, and Management (IITRAM) proudly inaugurated a cutting-edge 15 kW induction heating and melting system at its Mechanical Workshop. This advanced system was generously donated by Inductotherm (India) Pvt. Ltd. as part of their commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). The new system marks a significant leap forward in IITRAM’s technological capabilities, enabling students and researchers to explore innovative techniques in materials science and engineering. Equipped with state-of-the-art features, the system is designed to handle a wide range of materials, offering unparalleled precision and efficiency in heating processes.
The recently inaugurated facility is tailored for ferrous and non-ferrous casting, rapid heating, hot forging, and heat treatment applications. This enhancement significantly boosts IITRAM’s ability to deliver practical industrial training.
The event wrapped up with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and tours of the lab, symbolizing a crucial milestone in the collaboration between industry and academia aimed at enhancing advanced manufacturing skills among students.
